As the noise of politics grows louder and trust in media sinks deeper, we at Humanity First Ohio are choosing to start each week with something radically simple: truth with purpose. “Fresh Ink” is where facts meet community, and where your voice finds the power it deserves.

This week, we’re highlighting something truly amazing happening across Ohio—and it has nothing to do with headlines and everything to do with hope.

🇺🇸 America 250-Ohio: A Celebration for the People, By the People

America will turn 250 in 2026—and Ohio isn’t waiting to get the party started.

From Toledo to Tiffin, from Cincinnati to Sandusky, communities across the state are coming together to celebrate not just the birth of a nation—but the heartbeat of our neighborhoods. This isn’t about fireworks and fanfare. This is about reclaiming history, lifting up unheard voices, and making sure every Ohioan sees themselves in the story.

🗺️ Humanity First All Over Ohio

We usually focus on Columbus—but this movement stretches far beyond our backyard. Here are just a few places Humanity is thriving across Ohio:

  • Toledo: Students are producing a podcast about untold neighborhood histories.
  • 🌳 Athens: A courthouse lawn is being prepared for a white oak planting.
  • 🧺 Sandusky: Civic leaders are mapping out a 2026 lakefront picnic.
  • 🎭 Cincinnati: Youth performers are staging plays honoring forgotten Ohio heroes.

Ohio is loud with local voices—and they deserve to be heard far beyond our state lines.

🌦️ We Know Some Folks Have Given Up on Government…

And truthfully, we get it.

Some people believe the government has made our state and country a disgrace—and depending on the day, we’ve felt that frustration too. But we also know this:

👉🏾 This is still our home.

👉🏿 Our communities are not defined by corruption, but by courage.

👉🏽 Our resilience doesn’t need permission.

Ohio isn’t just a place. It’s a promise—and we, the people, keep that promise alive every time we plant a tree, teach our history, feed a neighbor, or speak truth to power.

🗣️ Let the Nation Know: We Are OH–IO

We rise in rainy skies.
We vote with values.
We build community out of broken systems.
We tell stories that mainstream media ignores.
We are not perfect—but we show up.

Ohio means something because we decide what it means.
And in 2026, we get to show the world what Humanity First really looks like.
